At Mount St. Mary’s University, students have until the end of their sophomore year to formally declare a major. However, we would like to send you more information about your major interest throughout your college search. Additionally, the Mount offers several pre-professional school advising tracks (below) – you may select one if you are interested.

Dual Degree BS/MBA or BS/MSSM: Both these programs are a 4+1 track that allows a student to complete a BS in accounting, business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, or sport management, while also taking graduate courses towards their MBA or MSSM as a junior and senior undergraduate.

Dual Degree BS/MS in Biotechnology Management: This program is an accelerated track that allows a student to complete a BS in Biology and/or Chemistry, while also working toward a MSB (Masters of Science in Biotechnology and Management).

Healthcare Professions including Medical School: MSMU offers a 4 year undergraduate pre-med advising track to prepare students for eventual application to medical school.

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine: Students accepted into the LECOM track will complete a 4 year undergraduate degree at MSMU (BA or BS), with a guaranteed seat at LECOM in their 4 year DO program. This program requires applicants have at least a 3.0 high school GPA and 1240 SAT or 26 ACT.

Law School: MSMU offers both a 4 year undergrad pre-law advising track as well as an accelerated 3+3 dual degree program affiliated with Columbus School of Law at Catholic University.

Shenandoah or University of Maryland Nursing: Both these programs are structured as 3+2.5 year programs, where students study at the Mount for the first 3 years, before moving on to one of two medical school partners to finish a BSN.

Credit & Residency

Students are considered "full-time" if they take 12 credits or more in a given semester. If you will take less than 12 credits, you are considered a "part-time" student.

Test Optional Policy

Mount St. Mary's University does not require standardized test scores for admission decisions or scholarships. However, we know that many students do want their scores considered as part of their overall academic review, so you may decide if you want to include your scores now.

Note for international applicants: International students who are in a non-English based high school curriculum must submit either SAT, ACT, TOEFL or IELTS scores.

Before enrolling in classes at Mount St. Mary’s University on a full-time basis, a student must provide proof of high school graduation and a final, official high school transcript.

This application for admission may not be processed until official high school transcript(s), SAT or ACT scores, and a Secondary School Report are received in the Mount St. Mary’s University Office of Admissions.
